The animals gather at these water points in their hundreds. The predators are more challenging to spot,
but you may get lucky by keeping a keen eye out. Stop at Halali for lunch and a break over the hottest
part of the day, Continue your game viewing later in the afternoon, Exit the park before sunset. Travel

Breakfast. Leave the white clay of Etosha behind and head west into beautiful Damaraland. After driving
through the small town of Khorixas, you can stop at the San Living Museum and Petrified Forest
Heritage Site along your way to Twyfelfontein. The San Living Museum supports a few San Bushmen
families enthusiastic about sharing insights into their traditional lifestyle with visitors. The Petrified
Forest is a fascinating collection of 280-million-year-old petrified tree trunks. As you travel along the C39,
you'll see homemade signs advertising petrified forests and welwitschias. Himba women sell arts and
crafts from small stalls beside the road, and customers who stop are rewarded with big smiles and
dancing. Arrive in the Twyfelfontein area in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge and relax while
enjoying the peace and beauty of your surroundings. Enjoy a spectacular Damaraland sundowner
before sitting down for dinner. Travel time from Etosha to Twyfelfontein is approximately 3h30,
Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge
Basis: DEB
- A Day in the Twyfeifontein Areo
Breakfast. Join a guide to visit the nearby Twyfelfontein Rock Art site. This UNESCO World Heritage site
is small (less than 1 km2). Still, it includes some great galleries of rock engravings (petroglyphs)
depicting an extraordinary diversity of wild animals - rhino, elephant, giraffe, Oryx, ostrich, flamingo,
zebra and many more - and footprints. The engravings are often superimposed on one another. They
are engraved on the massive rock faces of free-standing boulders in completely exposed positions,
They were probably made over a period of 2.000 years by local San hunter-gatherer peoples and
represent an important aspect of San ritual and belief systems. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest
during the hottest part of the day. During the afternoon, you join your guide to explore the dry riverbeds
and floodplains of the area. You'll search for the desert-adapted wildlife that thrives here. Enjoy another
beautiful Damaraland sundowner before turning in for a good night's rest under the sparkling stars of
the Milky Way

- Twyfelfontein - Cape Cross
Breakfast. Today, you'll leave Damaraland behind and drive to Cape Cross via Springbokwater. The
desolate landscape of the Dorob National park holds many secrets, Although it looks barren,
desert-adapted flora and fauna thrive here. Along this part of the C34, three shipwrecks, namely The
South West Sea, Winston, and Zeila, are still partly visible, The relentless forces of the sea and the beach
have gradually engulfed these wrecks, leaving very little remaining to be seen. Arrive at Cape Cross
Lodge. Relax after the day's journey Dinner and overnight at Cape Cross Lodge. Travel time from
Tvvyfelfontein to Cape Cross is approximately 4hOO.
Overnight at Cue Cross Lot-Ice
Basis: DBB
Cape Cross - Swakopmund
Enjoy breakfast, after which we recommend visiting the nearby Cape Fur Seal colony. (Cape Cross is
open daily from 10:00 to 17:00, and entrance costs N$ISO per person and N$50 per vehicle). Mornings
offer the perfect opportunity to visit the seal colony, as there are fewer visitors then. The colony emits a
strong odour, so we recommend bringing a buff or scarf to cover your mouth and nose if the wind
blows from the 'wrong' direction. Then, travel south along the coast, through the fishing town of
Hentiesbay, to Swakopmund, This quirky, historic town offers visitors an excellent base to explore the
area Enjoy dinner at one of Swakopmund's many excellent restaurants. The journey time from Cape
Cross to Swakopmund is approximately 2h,

the Waterfront for a 'classic' dolphin cruise. Sail alongside dolphins, seals, pelicans, and whales, and

mammal life, close encounters with pelicans and seals, invigorating sea air, and a delectable spread of
fresh oysters and bubbles—all during the course of a morning.
Overnight at Atlantic Garden BoqtiQlle Hotel

Swakopmund - Sesriem
Breakfast. Today, you leave the Atlantic waters and travel deep into the ancient Namib Desert. Drive
along gravel roads with dramatic landscapes unfolding around every corner. The rock formations
around the Caub and Kuiseb Canyons are genuinely marvellous. These ephemeral riverbeds were once
home to elephants, rhinos and lions. Their petrified footprints are still visible in the clay today -
preserved by the shifting sands covering them. The Kuiseb River Valley divides the sandy southern dune
area and the vast northern gravel plains. Cross the Tropic of Capricorn and stop at Solitaire for their
famous Apple Pie and to refuel before continuing to your lodge. Check in and relax while you enjoy a
beautiful sundowner before dinner. Travel time between Swakopmund and Sesriem is approx 4h30.
Overnight at Sossusvlei Lodge
Basis: DBB
- A Day in the Sossusvlei Area
Breakfast. This morning is an early start to grab a light breakfast before departing the lodge for the
Sesriem gate into the Namib Naukluft Park. This gate opens at sunrise, and you might find a queue of
cars waiting to enter the park. Once you've completed the entry permit paperwork and paid the entry
fees (N$150 per person + N$50 per vehicle - the permit is valid for a day and allows multiple entries), you
drive the 60km to the Sossusvlei dunes. This route to the dunes is a well-maintained tar road, except for
the last few kilometers of sandy tracks. Sossusvlei will be on your right, and the parking and route to
Deadvlei will be on your left. It is best to visit Deadvlei before the day gets too hot. If you're feeling
energetic, we recommend the climb up the crest of Big Daddy Dune. The panoramic views over the
sand sea are spectacular. To visit the Sesriem Canyon, you'll find the access road running along the
perimeter fence from the Sesriem gate into the Naukluft Park. Park your car at the Sesriem parking area
and walk down into the canyon to marvel at the layers of sediment that clearly show the passage of
time over millions of years. Exit the park, return to your lodge for lunch, and relax for the rest of the day.
You also have the option to visit Sesriem in the late afternoon when it is cooler.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
